A fatal crash in Christian County has left a 25-year-old woman dead and resulted in a felony charge against the driver, according to information contained in an arrest report and crash report.
The deadly collision occurred during the early-morning hours after the vehicle reportedly struck a mailbox. According to the crash report, one of the occupants was partially outside the vehicle when the collision occurred and was struck during the crash.
Authorities identified the driver as Alyssa Hope Vanorsdel, who is facing a felony charge in connection with the death of her friend. The arrest report states that Vanorsdel was charged with felony driving while intoxicated resulting in the death of another person.
The report indicated that Vanorsdel was not in custody at the time of the information provided. Because the case is a criminal proceeding, the charge remains an allegation, and Vanorsdel is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The crash report classified the incident as a fatality crash and stated that the victim’s next of kin had been notified. It also identified the collision as Troop D’s 85th traffic fatality of 2026.
