Scott Amaral Obituary: Cambridge Community Mourns Beloved Husband and Father

Scott Amaral, 44, died on the morning of Wednesday, August 26, 2026, leaving behind his devoted wife, two children, extended family and friends who are mourning the sudden loss of a beloved husband, father and family man.

Born on May 16, 1982, Scott was remembered as a loving husband to Laura Amaral and a dedicated father to Tiago and Bella. His family was described as the center of his world, and much of his later life was devoted to spending time with them and creating lasting memories.

Scott was the son of Teresa and Manuel Amaral and brother to Jonathan Amaral. He was also a proud uncle who cherished his nieces and nephews and maintained close relationships with his extended family. He held a particularly meaningful bond with his grandfather, Carlos Cabral.

Before stepping away from the construction industry, Scott built a successful 26-year career. In recent years, he devoted more of his time to his wife and children, embracing the opportunity to enjoy family life and the simple moments that meant the most to him. He also loved spending time with his dogs, Stark and Wolfie.

Those who knew Scott remembered his strong work ethic, generous heart and selfless nature. He was described as someone who was willing to help others and who remained determined to see his children succeed. His family said the love he gave, the lessons he taught and the memories he created will remain long after his passing.

Scott’s sudden death has left his loved ones facing an enormous absence. For his wife, children and extended family, the grief of losing him is accompanied by the memories of the years they shared together and the moments that defined their family life.

Funeral arrangements have been announced. Family and friends were scheduled to gather for visitation at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St. N., Cambridge, on Tuesday, September 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass was scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, followed by burial at New Hope Cemetery.

Scott Amaral’s life was marked by his devotion to his family, his determination and the relationships he built with those around him. Although his death came far too soon, his loved ones will continue to carry his memory through the lessons he taught and the memories they created together.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, children, family members, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

May Scott Amaral rest in peace, and may his family find comfort and strength in the love and memories he leaves behind.
