Firefighters from multiple agencies responded Sunday to a brush fire near Austin Executive Airport off northbound State Highway 130, with the blaze burning an estimated 10 to 15 acres before its forward progress was stopped.
The fire was reported at approximately 11:47 a.m. on August 30, 2026, prompting a coordinated response from Travis County emergency crews, including Travis County ESD No. 2, Travis County ESD No. 12, the Austin Fire Department and STAR Flight. Dozers from Travis County ESD No. 2 and ESD No. 11 were also dispatched as crews worked to contain the flames.
Officials reported that the fire’s forward progression had been stopped by approximately 12:20 p.m., although firefighters were expected to remain at the scene for an extended period to conduct mop-up operations and ensure the fire did not reignite.
The incident occurred amid extreme fire danger conditions in the Pflugerville area. The Pflugerville Fire Department’s current fire information lists an outdoor-burning restriction, underscoring the heightened wildfire risk in the region.
Additional aircraft and emergency resources were involved in the response, with APD Air 1 also reported at the scene. Authorities had not reported any deaths or injuries connected to the brush fire in the information available.
